Zinc Nitrate (Zn(NO3)2)

Zinc nitrate is an inorganic chemical compound with the formula Zn(NO3)2 . This white, crystalline salt is highly deliquescent and is typically encountered as a hexahydrate Zn(NO3)2•6H2O. It is soluble in both water and alcohol.
As an experienced manufacturer, Rudraksha Allied Chemicals offers a wide range of zinc chemicals and other chemicals for a wide range of applications. In addition to zinc nitrate, our range also includes other zinc chemicals and compounds.

Industrial Uses:

  • Zinc nitrate is an important chemical for the synthesis of other related zinc chemicals and is therefore widely used as a raw material in the chemical industry.
  • Zinc nitrate is used in the textile industry as a catalyst to achieve certain effects on textiles.
  • Zinc nitrate produces a higher level of cross-linking – compared to magnesium chloride – in cellulose fibre production coupled with higher acid resistance of the fibres.
  • Zinc nitrate is also indispensable in electroplating and in the dyeing of acetate fibres. The zinc nitrate swells on the acetate fibres, so that the dyeing result is more uniform and the mostly basic dyes can penetrate deeper into the fibre.
  • In metal and surface chemistry, zinc nitrate is used as a bleaching and mordanting agent
  • There zinc nitrate is especially in demand as a solution, as they allow an even easier handling. With the help of liquid zinc nitrate, for example, various surfaces can be pre-treated individually according to the respective requirements.
  • The main areas of application are corrosion protection (increasing the service life of various components and work pieces), adhesion, friction and wear reduction as well as electrical insulation.
